‘First timers’ flock to MINI TAKES THE STATES

As the popularity of MINI TAKES THE STATES continues to grow, the biennial motoring adventure continues to attract lots of first time participants.

Among them this year are Michael Hann and Polly Birnbaum, of Portland, OR, who are driving their 2015 MINI four-door hardtop all the way to Keystone.

On day two of the rally, they joined 900 other MINI owners and enthusiasts in around 450 cars as the journey passed through Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California, a mountainous area rich in in hydrothermal sites like Bumpass Hell, with its bubbling mud pots.

The route passed through altitudes of over 8,000 feet, treating MINI motorers to the sight of snow, even in high summer with air temperatures in the mid-eighties! “We certainly didn’t expect to see snow on MTTS 2018,” remarked Michael.
