MINI Goes All Around - to MINI TAKES THE STATES

As hundreds of MINI Motorers travel from all over the world to take part in MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014, there are two people who can say with confidence that they have covered the greatest distance to join the coast-to-coast rally.

MINI enthusiasts Fritz Kreis and Thomas Fuerst set off from their home city in Heidelberg, Germany, over two months ago on Monday,  June 16th, in their MINI Hardtop (R56), arriving in San Francisco, California, just in time to join almost 1,000 other guests for the start of MTTS 2014.

They drove their MINI over half way around the world on a heroic overland route through countries such as Poland, the Baltic States, Russia and Korea before reaching Japan, from where their MINI was flown to California for the kick-off of the next 5,200-miles of their journey. They have called their global drive “MINI Goes All Around” and have been chronicling their unique experiences on Facebook.

Even after they finally complete their drive across the USA, through 18 states and fifteen cities in 14 days, their marathon journey won’t be over, as they head for New York City to begin their final leg of their round-the-world adventure back to Germany.

As they prepared to hit the road in Reno Nevada today (Monday, July 28th), Fritz said: “It’s been an incredible journey so far but our inspiration was MINI TAKES THE STATES and we are so excited about the new MINI experiences that are ahead of us.”
