MINI’s Best Friends Reach Record Numbers at MTTS 2014

It isn’t just the human MINI Motorers who have signed up in record numbers for MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014. The number of pets who are joining their owners on the coast-to-coast drive has also risen to levels not seen on the previous four MTTS events.

By the time the epic rally reaches its destination in Boston MA on August 9 after passing through 15 cities and 18 states over 14 days, the pet roll call will show that a total of 122 dogs, six cats, two reptiles and even one bird will have joined their owners at MTTS 2014 events.

Research shows that 63% of MINI owners have pets, which is one of the key reasons why MINI USA chose the Best Friends Animal Society as the charitable partner for MTTS 2014. Best Friends will receive a $10,000 donation from registration fees and several staff will join the rally in a Best Friends-wrapped MINI, sharing the Society’s message to ‘Save Them All’.

As the rally passed, through Wendover, Utah, three of the Best Friends team were present at the Rise and Shine event where participants gathered before starting the third leg of the rally to Grand Junction, Colorado.

Teresa Boden and Pat Guerrero, who both work at the Best Friends main sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, were joined by Nora Della Maddalena, of Los Angeles, California, and all three said they were overjoyed by the response Best Friends has received so far from the MINI Motorers on MTTS 2014.

“It’s just wonderful to see that so many pet owners and animal lovers on an event like this share such a positive and uplifting approach,” said Nora.
