Climbing high on MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014

Around 1500 MINI Motorers  partied with MINI TAKES THE STATES as the coast-to-coast rally rolled into Albuquerque, New Mexico, after four days of driving and with almost a third of the 5,200-mile event completed.

MINI Motorers were treated to some true New Mexico  hospitality at a special party staged by MINI dealer, Sandia MINI of Albuquerque, to welcome the participants on the marathon driving event.

After crossing the Great Salt Lake Desert in Utah on Day Three of MTTS 2014, over 300 MINIs overnighted in Grand Junction Colorado, before heading for the deep southwest and New Mexico.

Contrasting starkly with the vast salt plains of Utah on Day Three of MTTS 2014, the fourth day saw the rally climb into the Rocky Mountains along the San Juan Skyway and the Million Dollar Highway.

The hundreds of MINIs were perfectly suited to the many twisty roads and hairpin turns as the route climbed mountain passes peaking at almost 11,000 feet. Steep cliffs, stunning mountain scenery and the historic Victorian communities of Silverton and Ouray, provided the MINI Motorers with many photo opportunities on the way.

UFO country in Roswell, New Mexico, awaits the Motorers as they head southeast on the next stage of the rally to Lubbock, Texas.
