Unidentified Motoring Objects Spotted in Roswell!

Around 300 MINIs have been spotted driving through the city of Roswell, New Mexico, the site of what is now called the 1947 Roswell UFO incident.

The MINIs and their owners were traveling on a 385-mile route from Albuquerque to Lubbock, Texas, on the fifth leg of MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014, a 5,200-mile coast-to-coast rally.

The journey to Texas for MTTS 2014 participants began with a spectacular send-off from Albuquerque dealer Sandia MINI, which has hosted two previous MINI TAKES THE STATES events. Over a thousand MINI fans gathered there for a pre-drive Rise & Shine event.

After passing through remote high desert plains of Eastern New Mexico at altitudes of up to 6,000 feet, the MINIs arrived at the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell where MINI Motorers learned about how Roswell became ‘UFO Central’.

The rally then continued across the Texas South Plains farmland into the city of Lubbock, home of Buddy Holly.

Music is on the agenda again for the sixth leg of the rally which will see Motorers heading for the Texas capital city of Austin.
