Record-breaking MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 Readies for the Off!

The final countdown is under way, the green flag is ready to drop and hundreds of MINI owners are preparing to start their engines, as the most eagerly-anticipated event in the MINI community prepares to get underway tomorrow (July 9).

An estimated 1,400+ MINI owners and enthusiasts will gather in Atlanta, Georgia, early tomorrow morning for the start of MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016, an epic 4,400-mile cross-country drive through 15 cities and 18 states.  

MINI owners participating in this year’s MINI TAKES THE STATES rally will be motoring with purpose by helping Feeding America, this year’s charity partner, to provide more than 800,000 meals to families in need with drivers, consumers and others contributing in various ways.

In what is the tenth anniversary year of this biennial motoring adventure, a record number of more than 4,000 motorers will take part in the marathon rally as it makes its way across the USA to Palm Springs, California.

Participants, some 900 of who will be ‘going all the way’ from start to finish, will enjoy some of America’s most memorable driving roads, magnificent scenery and iconic landmarks, including Mount Rushmore, The Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains and even the Strip in Las Vegas.

The MINI brand’s motorsport heritage will be celebrated with a “track to track” theme, making several stops at professional race tracks along the way, clearly evident by the first three days of the rally where the MINI enthusiasts will visit Atlanta Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.
