Skydivers drop in to give MTTS spectacular send off

Over 1,400 motorers who were gathering in Atlanta today for the start of MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 were treated to a spectacular aerial stunt by three skydivers who dropped in to give the cross-country drive an outstanding send-off.

Parachutists Vittorio Guaninelli, Ron Lee and Jim Hayhurst, who between them have completed over 25,000 jumps, leapt out of a plane flying 3,000 feet over the Atlanta Motor Speedway as over 650 MINIs were lined up and ready to begin the 4,400-mile rally.

This was no ordinary parachute jump. That’s because Vittorio, Ron and Jim are precision skydivers. Seconds after Ron completed a flawless and accurate landing in the pit lane area right in front of the onlookers, Vittorio and Jim went one better. Demonstrating a flawlessly accurate descent, both parachutists landed perfectly…directly in the rear seats of a pair of open-topped MINI Convertibles to the delight and the applause of the onlookers.

The kick-off stunt was a fun and exciting way for the MINI USA and Feeding America teams to encourage all the participants in attendance to “jump in” and help #DefyHunger.
