MTTS hits town – and doubles its population!

As MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 passed through the small town of Ridgeway on the first day of the rally between Atlanta and Charlotte, the record levels of participants more than doubled the population of the South Carolina community.
 
Many of the 300 residents of Ridgeway turned out to greet motorers from the 650+ MINIs that set off from Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier in the day, as they stopped for a break at Laura’s tea room on their 320-mile journey.
 
The Mayor of Ridgeway, Charlene Herring, and local store owner Dede Ruff were among those who met with and personally thanked many of the motorers for visiting their charming town. which Mrs Herring described as ‘a slice of American goodness’.
 
“We are delighted to welcome MINI TAKES THE STATES to Ridgeway,” she said, “It’s a nice place for people to visit and it reminds them of old time America and we hope that it leaves the MINI enthusiasts with some happy memories of our area.”
