TANYA'S PERSONAL REASON FOR HELPING TO DEFY HUNGER

Woodcliff Lake, NJ,  July 13, 2016. Motorer Tanya Loomis has first-hand personal experience of the effects of hunger on young people in America.

So when she heard that MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 had chosen Feeding America as its charity partner for the cross-country rally, she decided she had to make a practical contribution herself in helping to raise funds for the organization.

Tanya, of Corning, NY, works at a school in a rural community where the pupils are heavily supported by a food bank affiliated with Feeding America and this support extends to providing the children with backpacks of food on weekends.

As a keen expert in the craft of quilt making, she chose to use her talent and produce a MINI TAKES THE STATES-themed quilt, and then to offer it in a fund-raising raffle to help Feeding America to reach its target to provide more than 800,000 meals to families in need.

The magnificent quilt features the US and Union flags and a checkered-flag pattern, along with a map of the MTTS 2016 route on the rear.

"I made the quilt because I think what Feeding America is doing is fabulous and I hope my small contribution will help in defying hunger," said Tanya, who is driving her brand new MINI Clubman all the way to California on the cross-country motoring adventure.
