MTTS 2016 REACHES HALF WAY STAGE – BUT STILL A LONG WAY TO GO

Woodcliff Lake, NJ,  July 14, 2016. Seven days after leaving Atlanta, GA, on July 9, MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 rolled into Green Bay, WI, at the half way point of the 14-day rally.

But it was only half way in terms of time. That’s because while it took seven days of driving to reach the ninth state on the journey, the epic coast-to-coast rally had clocked up a total of ‘just’ 1,961 miles by the time it arrived in the home city of the Packers in the cheese state of Wisconsin.

The majority of the 4,397-mile journey still lies ahead for the motorers over the next seven days - 2,436 miles in fact – with four of those days involving drives of over 350 miles and two days of 400+ miles. Nobody said that MTTS 2016 was going to be easy!

Day seven of the motoring adventure started in St Ignace, MI, with a 252-mile journey through Michigan’s sparsely-populated Upper Peninsula and along the shores of Lake Michigan. A fascinating stop in the fishing village of Naubinway for MINI enthusiasts came at the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum, which houses a collection of antique and vintage snowmobiles.

The day concluded with an evening event at the Titletown Brewing Company in Green Bay, an upscale eating establishment which is based in the recently-renovated, former Chicago and Northwestern Railroad depot.

The journey westward to California begins on day eight of the rally with a 323-mile drive to Minneapolis, MN.
